Pampered Pup was established in 1981, in Matlacha, Florida. Owner, Mel Young has been grooming animals since 1974 and is a Master Groomer and has been a Vet Tech since 1980.
The Pampered Pup Groomers
When her shop first opened 28 years ago, Mel would bring her daughter Kacey to work with her every day, while her son Lorne was at school. Kacey grew up with a love of animals and with Mel’s expert instruction began grooming an early age. Kacey worked in the shop through high school and became a full time employee after college. As the business continued to grow, Mel needed more help. She taught Kacey’s best friend Cynthia to help her groom. Cynthia has now been working with Mel for 10 years. As traditions continue, customers will see Kacey and Cynthia’s children running around in the shop.
The newest member of the staff is Dominee. She has been with Pampered Pup for two years and is now an apprentice groomer. Other faces in the bathing area are our assistants Kathy and Virginia, excellent and caring bathers . Be assured that Pampered Pup's bathers are properly instructed and supervised by a senior staff member.
At Pampered Pup every groomer is a registered member of the NDGAA (National Dog Groomers Association of America). The staff expertly handles puppies to older dogs – even aggressive ones. Large or small, they can groom any dog in the right style and pattern. They are justifiably very proud of their work.
